New Zealand spinners helps to registered a 47-run victory in Nagpur to keep their unbeaten record against India in T20Is intact. New Zealand won by 47 runs against India in the ICC Cricket T20 World Cup 2016 Super 10 opening match played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on March 15, 2016.

What a win for New Zealand. They had only 126 runs to play with, but that huddle before the start of the innings meant a lot. McCullum opened the bowling and exploited Dhawan's persisting off-spin travails to trap him in front. Encouraged by the turn, Santner was summoned and he struck twice in his very first over making a fool of Rohit and Raina.

Earlier New Zealand won the toss and elect to bat Guptill smashed Ashwin for a first-ball six, only to get out off the very next ball. The shots continued and the Kiwi top-order was blown away in no time. 35/3 after 7 overs. Then came the second segment where Anderson and Taylor decided to settle down, nudged and nurdled to tick the singles around. Even that proved to be quite a task with the pitch taking enormous amounts of turn. As if survival wasn't tough enough, Raina pulled off a stunning run-out off his own bowling to send Taylor packing. Then Santner and Anderson somehow pulled through to 88/4 after 15 overs. In the death overs, the Kiwis went back to their heave-ho approach but a stunning display of death bowling from Bumrah and a dart-turning Jadeja (he turned it square) kept the noose tight right through. Finally New Zealand scored 126/7 (20.0 Ovs).
